David Alan Edwards

David Alan Edwards, 59, of Gastonia, NC, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born April 17, 1964, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to David Samuel Edwards and Juanita Privette Edwards. 

David’s passion was painting. He owned and ran Rite-Way Painting, his professional commercial and residential painting company for over 27 years. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters with whom he loved watching Disney movies. David was loved by many, never meeting a stranger. He always had a joke to tell and was an avid lover of history and football.

David was preceded in death by his father, David Samuel Edwards.

In addition to his mother, Juanita Privette Edwards, left to cherish his memory are his sister, Michelle Edwards Jones, his wife of 28 years and sweetheart for 39, Mary Ann Overlin Edwards, his daughters, Kayli and Sara Edwards, Sara's fiance, Andrew Dow, his two granddaughters, Gracie Boyd and Rhyleigh Dow, his uncle, Gary Privette, and Gary's lifelong partner, Sandy.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5th from 4:00 pm to 5:45 pm at DayStar Baptist Church, 211 Smith Rd, Mt Holly with a Celebration of Life to follow at 6:00 pm. Arrangements are in the care of Amy High-Crocker FSL.
